Tibetan Youth Congress Organizes Cycle Rally to Raise Awareness on Cultural Genocide in Tibet

The Tibetan Youth Congress recently organized a cycle rally to raise awareness about the cultural genocide in Tibet and demand that the Chinese government put an end to it. The rally started from Dehradun and passed through Chandigarh, covering more than 400 kilometers before reaching Delhi on Monday.

Details of the Rally

The rally began on September 24 and concluded on September 30. According to Tibetan Youth Congress President Gonpo Dhundup, the rally covered four Indian states and two union territories. A total of 54 participants took part in the event.

Objectives of the Rally

The primary goal of the rally was to urge the Chinese government to stop the cultural genocide in Tibet. Additionally, the rally aimed to highlight the Tibetan issue and seek support from the international community and the Indian government for Tibet’s independence.

Support and Success

The rally received tremendous support from the local Indian community, making it a successful campaign. Dhundup emphasized the importance of international solidarity with Tibet.

EU’s Concerns

Earlier, during the 57th general session of the United Nations Human Rights Council, the European Union expressed concerns about the dire human rights situation in Tibet. The EU highlighted issues such as obligatory boarding schooling, mass DNA sampling, and the closure of Tibetan schools. The EU called upon China to respect human rights and ensure education in the Tibetan language at all levels.
