Thulasendrapuram Villagers Celebrate Kamala Harris’s Presidential Bid
In the village of Thulasendrapuram, located in Tamil Nadu’s Tiruvarur district, villagers are showing their support for Kamala Harris in the US Presidential elections by creating traditional kolam designs. This village is the ancestral home of Harris’s maternal grandfather, PV Gopalan.
Kolam Designs and Special Prayers
Women in the village have drawn kolam patterns with messages like “Vanakkam America – Kamala Harris – Vetripera Vazhthukal,” which translates to “Namaste America – Kamala Harris – Wisher for her win.” Arulmozhi, a resident, expressed her hopes for Harris’s victory, stating that the village had previously wished for her success in the Vice Presidential elections, which she won. A special puja was also held at the Sri Dharma Sastha Sri Sevaka Perumaal Temple for her success.
Support from Across the Globe
Supporters from the US, including Sherin Shivlinga from Las Vegas, visited the village to attend the puja and show their support. They wore shirts with the slogan “Kamala Freakin Harris” to cheer for her. Anushanath’s Anukragni organization also organized a puja, with founder Ballu expressing confidence in Harris’s victory.
