Three People Die from Suspected Toxic Gas in Chhattisgarh Well

In Chhattisgarh’s Bemetara, three individuals, Atmaram Sahu (55), Ramkumar Dhruv (45), and Rakesh Sahu (25), died after inhaling suspected toxic gas inside a well. The incident occurred in Kua village.

Atmaram Sahu initially entered the well for cleaning and fell unconscious. Ramkumar Dhruv and Rakesh Sahu then entered the well using a rope to help him but also fell unconscious.

Locals raised an alarm, and the police and local administration were informed. Navagarh Tehsildar Vinod Banjare and an SDRF team from Bhilai arrived at the scene. All three were taken out of the well and declared dead.

Officials suspect the presence of poisonous gas inside the well. Bemetara additional SP Jyoti Singh stated that the exact cause of death will be determined after post-mortem examinations and forensic analysis.

Earlier this month, five people died after inhaling toxic gas inside a well in the state’s Janjgir-Champa district.
