Three Men Arrested in Noida for Transporting Marijuana from Odisha

Three men suspected of transporting marijuana from Odisha were arrested in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, on Friday morning. The joint operation by the Crisis Response Team and Expressway Police led to the seizure of 60 kg of marijuana worth Rs 30 lakh.

The arrested individuals were involved in supplying the contraband in and around the Delhi NCR region. According to DCP (Crime) Shakti Mohan Awasthi, the accused used to bring the marijuana by bus and supply it in bundles. All three have criminal histories.

The police are gathering information about the association the smugglers are part of. Earlier, the Delhi Police Crime Branch arrested a wanted drug supplier, Chitrasen Parida, from Ganjam district, Odisha. Parida, who frequently changed his location, was wanted in several cases and had been declared an absconder by the court.

Parida was apprehended after diligent field and technical work by HC Sandeep Kumar. He had been involved in supplying drugs across India and had previous arrests by STF Bhubaneswar and Gujarat Police.
