Three Members of KPLA Surrender in Assam

In Karbi Anglong district of Assam, three members of a newly formed organization called KPLA surrendered to the local police with their weapons. The police recovered three 0.32 pistols and two rounds of live ammunition. According to Assam Director General of Police GP Singh, the KPLA was targeting the areas of Langlokso, Nihanglangso, and Borpung for extortion activities.

Police Efforts Lead to Surrender

GP Singh shared on social media that the KPLA was formed in July 2024 and had been attempting extortion in specific areas. Due to sustained police efforts, three members of the organization surrendered to the Karbi Anglong police team.

Fake CBI Officer Arrested in Guwahati

In a separate incident, a man named Fayajul Hazarika, also known as Denish, was arrested in the Jalukbari area of Guwahati for impersonating a CBI officer and extorting money. Fake police uniforms, I-cards, badges, and toy pistols were seized from his possession. Guwahati Commissioner of Police Diganta Barah stated that Hazarika had been collecting money by promising jobs to gullible people. His accomplice, Gautam Saikia, who allowed the use of his vehicle, was also apprehended.
