Three Hanuman Langurs Escape from Thiruvananthapuram Zoo
Three female grey langurs, also known as Hanuman langurs, escaped from their open enclosure at Thiruvananthapuram Zoo in Kerala on Sunday evening. The zoo’s director, Manjula Devi, explained that the langurs escaped when bamboo trees bent into their enclosure.
Manjula Devi stated, “We have four Hanuman langurs, three of them were brought from Haryana Zoo and one from Tirupati Zoo. Somehow three female langurs escaped from the open enclosure. Today morning we found that three of them escaped. All of them are nearby and on the tree. They are under our control.”
The langurs are still on the zoo premises, and zookeepers are keeping a close watch on them, trying to lure them back.
