Three Children Die from Suspected Food Poisoning in Andhra Pradesh Hostel

In a tragic incident in Anakapalli district, Andhra Pradesh, three children lost their lives and several others were hospitalized due to suspected food poisoning at a hostel run by Aaradana Trust. The hostel, located in Kailasa Patnam, Kotavuratla Mandal, houses 86 children from first to fifth grade who study at a local school.

According to Anakapalli Collector Vijaya Krishnan, the children fell ill after consuming biryani. The situation worsened on Monday morning, leading to the deaths of two girls, Shadda and Bhavani, and a boy named Joshua. A total of 27 children fell ill, with five in critical condition being shifted to Visakhapatnam KGH.

Authorities are currently treating 16 children in government hospitals in Chintapalli, Paderu, and Koyyur. Narsipatnam RDO HV Jayaram is overseeing the situation at the area hospital.

YSRCP Chief and former Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy expressed deep sorrow over the incident and criticized the government’s negligence. He called for immediate support for the affected families and improvements in the monitoring systems to prevent such tragedies in the future.
