Three Children Die and 12 Fall Ill at Shri Yugpurush Dham in Indore

In Indore, Madhya Pradesh, three children tragically died and 12 others fell ill at Shri Yugpurush Dham Baudhik Vikas Kendra, a special school for specially-abled children. The sick children were admitted to Chacha Nehru Hospital on Tuesday morning.

Investigation Ordered

District Collector Ashish Singh immediately ordered an investigation into the incident. ADM Rajendra Raghuvanshi and officials from the Food Department visited the ashram to investigate. ADM Raghuvanshi stated, “We received information that a few children died and some were suffering from vomiting and diarrhoea. The sick children were admitted to the hospital. A total of three children died so far, one on June 30 and two on July 1. Twelve children suffering from vomiting and diarrhoea have been admitted to Chacha Nehru Hospital.”

Samples Taken

The Food Safety Department has taken samples from the ashram, and the cause of the incident will be known after examination. Post-mortem of two children has been done, and a detailed report is awaited. The institution is operated by an NGO and houses children with disabilities and orphans.

Hospital Update

Dr. Preeti Malpani, Superintendent of Chacha Nehru Hospital, said, “12 children came to our hospital this morning from an ashram on Panchkuiya Road. They have been suffering from vomiting and diarrhoea since last night. These children are disabled, visually impaired, and mentally abnormal.” All the children were dehydrated, and the condition of two children was critical. They are all undergoing treatment.
