Three Bangladeshi Nationals Arrested at Agartala Railway Station
In Agartala, Tripura, the Government Railway Police (GRP) and Railway Protection Force (RPF) have arrested three Bangladeshi nationals, including two women and one man, for illegally entering India. The arrest took place at the Agartala Railway Station on Thursday afternoon, following a tip-off. The individuals were attempting to board a train to travel to another state.
The operation was a joint effort by the GRP, RPF, and the intelligence department. During initial questioning, the detainees revealed their plan to travel to West Bengal. They are currently being interrogated further at the Agartala GRP station, and officials suspect more arrests may occur as the investigation continues.
A case has been registered against the three individuals, identified as Sagar Ghosh, Sonali Rani Ghosh, and Manisha Kumari Ghosh, all from the Narail district of Bangladesh. They are expected to be presented before the court on Friday.
Earlier, on October 22, five illegal immigrants were detained at the same station during a joint operation involving the GRP, RPF, Border Security Force (BSF), and intelligence agencies. The suspects provided conflicting statements about their intended destinations, mentioning Hyderabad and Mumbai.
