Thane Woman Sanam Khan Arrested for Using Fake Documents to Travel to Pakistan
Thane Police have arrested a 23-year-old woman named Sanam Khan, also known as Nagma Noor Maqsood Ali, for using fake documents to obtain a passport and travel to Pakistan. Khan used forged Aadhar and PAN cards, along with her daughter’s birth certificate, to get the passport.
According to the police, Khan traveled to Pakistan with her daughter and stayed there for one and a half months before returning to India. The crime took place between May 2023 and 2024.
The Vartak Nagar Police have registered a case under the Indian Passport Act and other sections against Khan and an unknown person who helped her prepare the forged documents. Khan claimed she had changed her name, but has not provided any documents to support this claim.
In her preliminary statement to the Thane Police, Khan said she went to Pakistan to meet a person she befriended on Instagram. The police are investigating her relationship with this man and the involvement of the unknown person in creating the fake documents.
