Thakur Randhir Singh Talks About Terrorist Activities in Rajouri and Upcoming Elections in Jammu and Kashmir

Thakur Randhir Singh, who is BJP’s candidate from Kalakote-Sunderbani assembly constituency, spoke about the recent terrorist activities in Rajouri. He termed these activities as attempts to disturb the upcoming Assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir, which will take place from the third week of September after nearly a decade.

Singh criticized Pakistan for causing trouble in the region, stating, “Such cowardly acts from Pakistan have always had the intention to disturb us. They caused trouble in J&K, our youths were killed and devoid of education.” He claimed that today there is peace in Kashmir, unlike in the past, which was marred by stone pelting and strikes.

He added, “During militancy, there used to be frequent calls for shutdowns followed by stone-pelting in Kashmir. Today, there is peace in Kashmir, and everyone is doing their work. Everyone talks about development, and not militancy, today. But Pakistan has continued with its actions. This is an attempt to disturb the upcoming elections.”

A search operation is underway in the Rajouri district after an exchange of fire took place between terrorists and security forces on August 28. Singh expressed confidence that the people will vote in favor of BJP in Rajouri and Poonch areas. He said, “But I think people have made up their minds, they will participate in large numbers, and elect their desired candidates. I think people are going to make BJP victorious in Rajouri and Poonch areas.”

Earlier, Lt Gen MV Suchindra Kumar, Army Commander Northern Command, accompanied by the 16 Corps Commander, Lt Gen Navin Sachdeva, visited forward areas along the line of control in Sunderbani Sector to review the security situation.
