Terrorists in Disguise: Attack on Israeli Border Near Neot HaKikar

On October 18, an incident occurred along the Jordanian border where two individuals, disguised as Jordanian soldiers, infiltrated Israel. These individuals were not actual soldiers but terrorists, as confirmed by an initial investigation by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF). Their identities are still being investigated.

The terrorists entered Israel by cutting through a section of the border secured only by barbed wire. IDF forces quickly responded and encountered the infiltrators just three meters inside Israeli territory. One terrorist was neutralized immediately, while the other ran towards an IDF unit about 100 meters away and was eliminated on a military vehicle.

During the encounter, the terrorists fired at the military vehicle, hitting it eight times and injuring two soldiers. The IDF believes the attack was likely aimed at a greenhouse area near the community of Neot HaKikar. The Tamar Festival, located 50 kilometers away, was not considered a target.

Although searches continue for a possible third terrorist, the IDF currently believes only two were involved in the infiltration.
