Terrorist Associate Arrested in Poonch, Farooq Abdullah Urges Peace

Security forces arrested a terrorist associate in Mangnar village, Poonch district, Jammu and Kashmir. The arrest was made by the Indian Army Romeo Force and Special Operations Group Poonch Police. Senior Superintendent of Police Yougal Manhas confirmed the arrest and the seizure of arms and ammunition.

Farooq Abdullah’s Statement

National Conference Chief Farooq Abdullah urged the central government to take steps to stop terrorism, describing the situation as ‘alarming and dangerous.’ He also called on Pakistan to abandon terrorism and seek peace, stating that continued terrorism would worsen the situation.

Recent Terror Incidents

Recent terror incidents in Jammu and Kashmir, including attacks by Pakistan’s Border Action Team, have raised concerns. Earlier this month, an attack in Kupwara district resulted in the death of one Pakistani intruder and one Indian Army soldier, with four others injured. There has been a spike in terror attacks in the Jammu region, including an attack on an army convoy in Kathua and encounters in Doda and Udhampur.
