Telangana Minister Ponnam Prabhakar Encourages Students to Plant Trees

Karimnagar (Telangana) [India], July 15: Telangana Transport and BC Welfare Minister Ponnam Prabhakar urged students and youth to plant saplings to protect the environment. He participated in the Vanamahotsavam program at Satavahana University in Karimnagar, where he planted saplings on the university premises. Karimnagar additional collector Praful Desai also attended the event.

CM Revanth Reddy Plans to Increase BC Quota

Meanwhile, Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy ordered officials to prepare an action plan to increase the BC (Backward Classes) quota in the upcoming local body Panchayat elections. The CM held a review meeting at the Secretariat to discuss the proposal and the feasibility of enhancing reservations. Minister Ponnam Prabhakar also attended the meeting and shared his views.

The CM asked officials to provide details on the implementation of reservations in previous Panchayat elections and the preparations for the upcoming ones. Officials explained the procedures followed in the last elections and the time required to complete the caste census. The CM emphasized the need to conduct elections promptly to avoid delays in the release of central funds to local bodies.
