Telangana CM Revanth Reddy’s New Education Policy and Historic Loan Waiver for Farmers

The Telangana Government, led by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, has introduced a new policy to enhance the education system in government schools. CM Reddy has instructed the Secretary to the Education Department, Burra Venkatesham, to develop plans to strengthen all government schools within three years.

Key initiatives include the establishment of semi-residential and integrated residential schools, and providing education up to the 3rd standard in Anganwadi centres. The CM also suggested recruiting additional teachers for these centres and ensuring educational facilities in students’ native villages.

Transport facilities will be provided for students attending semi-residential schools. Officials are to consult educational experts and pilot the project in one or two mandals. CM Reddy emphasized using both government allocations and CRS funds to improve school facilities and provide quality education.

In another significant move, CM Reddy and Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu released over Rs 6,000 crore for a loan waiver scheme benefiting farmers. This scheme waives up to Rs 2 lakh in loans per farmer, setting a record in India. Bhatti Vikramarka hailed the day as historic, noting that Telangana has become a model state for such initiatives.
