Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has announced the state government’s full cooperation for the construction of national highways. He is ready to remove any hurdles to develop the National Highway network in the state.

Meeting with NHAI Officials

According to a statement from the Chief Minister’s Office, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) officials held a meeting with CM Reddy at his residence. State Roads and Buildings Minister Komati Reddy Venkat Reddy, NHAI Project Member Anil Chaudhary, R&B Special Secretary Dasari Harichandana, CMO Secretary Shanawaz Qasim, and others participated in the meeting.

The officials explained various problems, including land acquisition, in the construction of roads. The CM responded positively and called a high-level meeting at the Secretariat to resolve these issues. District collectors and Forest department officials will also participate in this meeting.

Key Projects and Initiatives

CM Revanth Reddy asked the NHAI officials to start the Hyderabad-Manneguda road works immediately and solve issues by holding talks with the contract agency. He also advised starting the widening of the Hyderabad-Vijayawada national highway in coordination with the Andhra Pradesh government.

The CM highlighted the efforts by the Andhra Pradesh government for the green field highway project between Hyderabad and Vijayawada. He also urged cooperation in constructing the Regional Ring Road (RRR) and suggested including it under the centrally sponsored Bharat Mala Scheme.

Additionally, 12 radial roads will be constructed between the Outer Ring Road (ORR) and RRR, with many clusters and satellite townships established in this area. The CM proposed a high-speed expressway to connect the Bandar port (Machilipatnam) and the proposed Dry port in the state.

Future Plans

The Chief Minister appealed to the NHAI to start the works of the Hyderabad-Kalwakurthy national highway, which will reduce the distance between Hyderabad and Tirupati by 70 km. This new highway will benefit travelers from Maharashtra, Karnataka, and Hyderabad.

CM Revanth Reddy directed CMO Secretary Shahnawaz Qasim to report weekly on the construction of roads in the state.
