Telangana CM Revanth Reddy Meets Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar

On Monday, Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy met with Union Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs Manohar Lal Khattar in New Delhi. The meeting focused on seeking central government support for various projects in Telangana.

Hyderabad’s Comprehensive Sewerage Master Plan

CM Reddy discussed the inclusion of Hyderabad’s Comprehensive Sewerage Master Plan (CSMP) under the AMRUT 2.0 mission. This mission aims to improve urban areas by ensuring universal water supply and sewage management. The Chief Minister emphasized the outdated sewage systems in Hyderabad and nearby municipalities, which are insufficient for current needs.

The detailed project report (DPR) for the CSMP covers Hyderabad and 27 nearby municipalities, aiming for 100% wastewater treatment. The plan spans 7,444 km and is estimated to cost Rs 17,212.69 crore. CM Reddy handed over the DPR to Minister Khattar, requesting financial assistance through AMRUT 2.0 or as a special project.

Pollution Prevention and Metro Rail Expansion

Additionally, CM Reddy submitted a DPR for constructing trunk sewers, large-size box drains, and new sewage treatment plants costing Rs 4,000 crores to prevent pollution of the Musi River. He also sought approval for the expansion of Hyderabad Metro Rail Phase 2, which includes several corridors totaling 76.4 kilometers, with an estimated cost of Rs 24,269 crores.
