Telangana CM Revanth Reddy Plans New Tourism Policy

Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has directed officials to create a new Tourism Policy to develop more tourist destinations in the state. This decision was made during a high-level meeting as part of the SPEED (Smart Proactive Efficient and Effective Delivery) review.

Focus Areas

The new policy will focus on three main areas:

  • Temple Tourism
  • Eco Tourism
  • Health Tourism

The CM emphasized promoting ancient temples, historical sites, forest areas, and medical facilities as attractive tourist destinations.

New Tourism Packages

Officials were instructed to introduce new tourism packages that include transportation, accommodation, and necessary facilities for tourists. The possibility of establishing safaris in the Kawal Tiger Reserve and Amrabad, along with constructing cottages for overnight stays, will be explored.

Infrastructure and Partnerships

CM Reddy stressed the importance of maintaining and managing infrastructure like Haritha Hotels and guest houses. He suggested that new projects should involve government and private partnerships to boost tourism and create jobs.

New Zoo Park and Urban Forests

A new zoo park will be established outside Hyderabad on about 1,000 acres, featuring a variety of animals and birds. The development of urban forests will also be prioritized.

Health Tourism

200 acres of government land in the Ananthagiri region will be used to develop Health Tourism. A Nature Wellness Centre, similar to the Jindal Nature Cure Institute in Bangalore, will be set up. Officials will consult with Jindal Company representatives and other noted organizations in naturopathy.

Meeting Participants

The meeting was attended by State Tourism Minister Jupalli Krishna Rao, Tourism Development Corporation Chairman Patel Ramesh Reddy, Chief Secretary Santhi Kumari, and other senior officials from various departments.
