Telangana CM Revanth Reddy Lays Foundation Stone for Hare Krishna Heritage Tower in Hyderabad
On August 26, Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy laid the foundation stone for the Hare Krishna Heritage Tower, which will stand 430 feet tall in Kokapet, Hyderabad.
Conservation Efforts
Chief Minister Reddy emphasized the importance of conserving ponds and natural resources, inspired by the teachings of Lord Krishna. He stated that Hyderabad, once known as a city of ponds, has seen its water bodies exploited and polluted. Reddy stressed the need for strict measures to protect these resources for future generations.
Addressing Exploitation
Reddy criticized the construction of farmhouses near ponds and the release of wastewater into these water bodies. He declared that the government is committed to fighting against the encroachment of ponds, inspired by Lord Krishna’s teachings to Arjuna in the Kurukshetra war.
Spiritual and Social Initiatives
During the foundation puja of Anantasesha, Reddy mentioned that the Hare Krishna Heritage Building would spread spirituality worldwide. He also announced cooperation with the Hare Krishna Foundation to provide meals in government hospitals like Osmania, Gandhi, and Nims.
The event saw participation from state ministers, public representatives, organizers of the Hare Krishna movement, and devotees.
