Telangana CM Revanth Reddy Increases Allowances for Hostel Students
Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has announced a significant increase in diet and cosmetic allowances for students residing in social welfare hostels. This decision, described as a ‘Diwali Gift’, was made to benefit students in government hostels, including those under SC, ST, BC, Minority institutions, and the Telangana Residential Educational Institution Society (TREIS).
State Principal Secretary for Education B Venkatesham, along with other welfare department secretaries, met with the Chief Minister to express their gratitude for this decision. They were pleased with the implementation of the Official Committee’s recommendations regarding the increase in diet charges.
The Chief Minister emphasized the importance of providing nutritious meals to students and directed officials to introduce the revised diet within 10 days. This enhancement in allowances is set to benefit approximately 7,65,705 students across the state.
