Telangana CM Revanth Reddy and Rahul Gandhi Pay Tribute to YS Rajashekhar Reddy on His 75th Birth Anniversary

On the occasion of the 75th birth anniversary of former Chief Minister of undivided Andhra Pradesh, YS Rajashekhar Reddy, many Congress leaders, including Rahul Gandhi and Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, paid homage.

Rahul Gandhi’s Tribute

Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, shared a video on social media platform X, praising YSR as a true leader of the masses. He highlighted YSR’s grit, dedication, and commitment to uplifting the people of Andhra Pradesh and India.

“My humble tributes to former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, YS Rajasekhara Reddy ji, on his 75th birth anniversary. A true leader of the masses, his grit, dedication, and commitment to the upliftment and empowerment of the people of Andhra Pradesh and India has been a guiding light to many of us. I personally learnt a lot from him. He shall always remain an exemplar of excellence in public life,” Gandhi said.

Tributes in Hyderabad

Telangana CM and TPCC Chief Revanth Reddy, along with Telangana Deputy CM Bhatti Vikramarka, paid tribute to YS Rajashekhar Reddy at the YSR statue at Panjagutta in Hyderabad. They were accompanied by AICC General Secretary Deepadas Munshi and many other party leaders.

Later, Revanth Reddy inaugurated a photo exhibition in honor of the former CM at the Jyothirao Phule Praja Bhavan in Hyderabad.

“On the occasion of the 75th birth anniversary of Congress Party leader…former Chief Minister of the Union State…Late YS Rajasekhar Reddy… along with many party leaders, Deputy CM Shri Bhatti Vikramarka, and AICC General Secretary Deepadas Munshi paying respects to the YSR statue at Panjagutta,” Reddy said on the social media site X.

YS Rajashekhar Reddy’s Legacy

YS Rajashekhar Reddy, also known as YSR, served as the Chief Minister of the then-undivided state of Andhra Pradesh from 2004 to 2009. He was an MLA six times from the Pulivendula constituency and served four terms as a member of the Lok Sabha from Kadapa.

YSR tragically died in 2009 when the helicopter he was traveling in disappeared in the Nallamala Forest region. It was later confirmed that the helicopter had crashed, and YSR was among the five people who were declared dead.
