In a tragic incident, 20 people in Siwan and 4 in Chapra lost their lives due to consuming spurious liquor. Former Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejaswi Yadav criticized Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, accusing him and his cabinet of immoral politics. Yadav expressed his concerns on social media, highlighting the failure of the liquor ban in Bihar and questioning the CM’s competence.

RJD leader Manoj Kumar Jha stated that the official death toll might be underreported, describing the situation as a powerful syndicate operating under the guise of prohibition. BJP leader Nitin Nabin assured that action would be taken against those responsible, while Bihar Excise Minister Ratnesh Sada mentioned that a Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been formed to investigate the tragedy. He also confirmed that officials and police personnel have been suspended, and support is being provided to the affected families.
