Tejashwi Yadav Leads Seat-Sharing Talks for Jharkhand Elections
In Ranchi, Jharkhand, Sanjay Yadav, President of RJD Jharkhand, announced that Tejashwi Yadav is handling the seat-sharing discussions for the upcoming state elections. He expressed optimism about the progress, stating that leaders of the INDIA alliance are united in contesting the elections together.
Earlier, Tejashwi Yadav, along with Telangana’s Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, visited Ranchi to discuss seat-sharing with INDIA bloc leaders. Tejashwi assured that any decisions made would be communicated promptly.
The Chief Election Commissioner, Rajiv Kumar, announced that Jharkhand’s assembly elections will occur in two phases on November 13 and 20, with vote counting on November 23. Maharashtra will also hold elections on November 20, with results on November 23.
Jharkhand has 2.60 crore eligible voters, including 1.31 crore males and 1.29 crore females, with 11.84 lakh first-time voters and 66.84 lakh young voters. The election process includes key dates for nominations and withdrawals, with the assembly term ending on January 5, 2025, covering 81 constituencies.
