Tejashwi Yadav Gets Court’s Nod for Dubai Family Vacation Amid CBI Case

The Rouse Avenue court has granted permission to Tejashwi Yadav to travel to Dubai for a family vacation. Tejashwi Yadav, who is an accused in a CBI case, sought permission to travel from September 18 to October 8 with his family.

Conditions for Travel

Special CBI judge Vishal Gogne approved the travel with several conditions:

  • Tejashwi must provide a Fixed Deposit Receipt (FDR) of Rs 25 lakh, which will be forfeited if he violates any conditions.
  • He must inform the court of his travel itinerary, stay details, and contact number before traveling.
  • He must inform the court of his return within 48 hours and surrender his passport after renewal.
  • No extension of stay abroad will be allowed.

CBI’s Opposition

The CBI opposed the bail application, citing serious allegations under the Prevention of Corruption Act. However, Judge Gogne noted that the right to travel is intrinsic and should not be curtailed without reason. The court found no merit in the CBI’s objections and emphasized that travel rights should not be unnecessarily monitored.

Additional Details

Tejashwi’s counsel argued that he is the Leader of the Opposition in Bihar and unlikely to abscond. The CBI countered that necessary travel details were not provided and suggested reasonable restrictions on the travel plea.
