Patna (Bihar) [India], August 14: Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav has criticized the central government over the issue of reservation. He stated that if the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) supports SC/ST reservation, they should bring an ordinance against the Supreme Court’s order on the creamy layer regarding reservation. Tejashwi also referred to the BJP as the ‘Badka Jhootha Party’ (Big Liar Party).

Tejashwi accused the BJP of scrapping the 65% reservation and 10% Economically Weaker Section (EWS) reservation. He demanded that these reservations be included in Schedule 9 of the Constitution. He claimed that the BJP manipulates the court to scrap these reservations and vowed to fight the issue both in court and on the streets.

Tejashwi emphasized that reservations were introduced by Dr. B.R. Ambedkar to address discrimination and help backward communities integrate into the mainstream. He accused the BJP of being anti-Dalit and anti-reservation.

The Supreme Court had earlier ruled that states have the power to sub-classify Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (SCs and STs) and must calculate adequacy based on effective representation. Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw stated that there is no provision for a creamy layer in SCs and STs reservation in the Constitution drafted by Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, and the NDA government is committed to following the Constitution.

Tejashwi also criticized Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, claiming that he is unable to manage the state’s rising crime rate. He highlighted incidents of crime, including murders and rapes, and stated that the government has completely failed.
