Tejashwi Yadav Criticizes BJP Over NEET-UG 2024 Paper Leak
Patna (Bihar) [India], June 22: RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav criticized the BJP government on Friday for irregularities in the NEET-UG 2024 medical entrance exam. He claimed that paper leaks frequently occur in BJP-ruled states.
Speaking to reporters, Yadav said, “Wherever there is BJP government, paper leaks are happening there… It is my appeal to investigation agencies to probe Sanjeev Mukhiya. I urge the government to probe this. Sanjeev Mukhiya is said to be the head of Nitish Kumar and Amit Anand who have been nabbed (in NEET issue). This should be investigated.”
Yadav warned that if the investigation is not impartial, he would reveal pictures of Sanjeev Mukhiya with politicians. He emphasized that those responsible for the paper leak and cheating would not be spared.
Recently, Patna police arrested several individuals, including NEET candidate Anurag Yadav, his uncle Sikandar Yadavendu, and two others, Nitish Kumar and Anand.
Yadav also criticized Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, a senior BJP leader, for not acknowledging the paper leak. He referred to the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2024, which aims to prevent cheating in public exams and entrance tests.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) is under scrutiny for alleged irregularities in this year’s NEET-UG and NET exams, leading to protests and demands to disband the NTA. Concerns grew after 67 students achieved a perfect score of 720 out of 720 marks. In response, the Education Ministry formed a seven-member committee to reform the examination process and the NTA’s functioning.
