On October 22, the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) announced its list of six candidates for the upcoming Jharkhand Assembly elections. This announcement came after Tejashwi Yadav, former Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar and RJD leader, confirmed that seat-sharing discussions had concluded successfully.

RJD Candidates for Jharkhand

The candidates announced are Suresh Paswan from Deoghar, Sanjay Prasad Yadav from Godda, Subhash Yadav from Koderma, Rashmi Prakash from Chatra, Naresh Prasad Singh from Vishrampur, and Sanjay Kumar Singh Yadav from Hussainabad.

INDIA Alliance and Election Goals

Tejashwi Yadav emphasized the unity of the INDIA alliance, which aims to promote secularism, peace, and prosperity in Jharkhand. He criticized the BJP for its past governance, claiming it was anti-reservation and anti-constitution. Yadav expressed confidence that the people of Jharkhand want Hemant Soren to continue as Chief Minister.

Seat Sharing and Other Parties

The Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) and Congress have agreed to share 70 seats, while the RJD and Left parties will divide the remaining 11. The BJP has also released its list of 66 candidates, with notable figures like Babulal Marandi and Meera Munda contesting.

Election Schedule

The elections for the 81 seats in the Jharkhand assembly will occur in two phases on November 13 and 20, with the results to be announced on November 23.
