In Patna, Bihar, Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Kumar Jha responded to RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav’s demand for a nationwide caste census and a 65% quota increase in Bihar to be included in the Ninth Schedule of the Constitution. Jha highlighted that Chief Minister Nitish Kumar ensured the caste census took place in Bihar and criticized the opposition for not providing reservations in Panchayats when they were in power.

The Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) held a state-wide one-day sit-in protest demanding a nationwide caste census and the inclusion of the 65% quota increase in the Ninth Schedule. Tejashwi Yadav, the leader of the opposition in the state assembly, participated in the protest from the party office on Beerchand Patel Path. Similar protests are planned across various districts, with visuals showing large gatherings of party officials and workers in Patna.

Tejashwi Yadav questioned the JD(U) on their stance regarding the reservation increase by the Mahagathbandhan government. He criticized the BJP, stating that their mentality is to keep certain sections of society in poverty. Yadav emphasized the importance of understanding the conditions of different castes and working to eliminate poverty.
