Team India Celebrates T20 World Cup Win with Dance at Wankhede Stadium

The T20 World Cup-winning Team India brought joy to the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, not just with their cricket skills, but with their fun dance moves during the celebration of their victory on Thursday.

Victory Parade in Mumbai

After meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Delhi, the team traveled to Mumbai. They had an open bus victory parade from Marine Drive to the Wankhede Stadium. Thousands of fans gathered to cheer for the team, making the parade a memorable event.

Celebrations at Wankhede Stadium

At the Wankhede Stadium, the players were awarded Rs 125 crore by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). The players talked about their win and the performances of key players in the T20 World Cup. They also danced to the sounds of a dhol and took a victory lap to the tune of ‘Vande Mataram’.

Players’ Performances

India ended a 13-year ICC World Cup trophy drought by defeating South Africa by seven runs in the final. Virat Kohli scored 76 runs, helping India reach 176/7. Hardik Pandya and Jasprit Bumrah’s bowling restricted South Africa to 169/8. Bumrah, who took 15 wickets in the tournament, was named ‘Player of the Tournament’.

Arrival in Delhi

Earlier on Thursday, the team arrived in Delhi to a warm welcome from fans. The flight, organized by BCCI secretary Jay Shah, departed from hurricane-struck Barbados and arrived in Delhi at around 6:00 AM.

The BCCI shared a video of the players dancing at Wankhede, featuring stars like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah, and Rishabh Pant.
