Team India Celebrates T20 World Cup Win with PM Modi

New Delhi, India – The Indian men’s cricket team recently met Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his residence, marking a stark contrast to their last meeting. The previous encounter was filled with heartbreak after their loss to Australia in the 2023 ODI World Cup final at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium.

During that somber moment, PM Modi consoled the team, including stars like Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, encouraging them to keep their spirits high despite the defeat. Fast forward to 2024, the same team returned as undefeated T20 World Champions, having triumphed over various challenges in the Caribbean.

The players, including Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Ravindra Jadeja, Jasprit Bumrah, and head coach Rahul Dravid, were filled with pride and joy. This victory was especially significant for Dravid, who had experienced a heartbreaking exit in the 2007 ICC Cricket World Cup.

During their meeting with PM Modi, the team wore special jerseys with two stars representing their T20 World Cup wins. They posed for a picture with the Prime Minister, holding the trophy. Earlier, the team received a warm welcome from fans in New Delhi and celebrated with a special cake at the ITC Maurya Hotel.

The celebrations will continue with an open-top bus ride in Mumbai, starting from Marine Drive to the iconic Wankhede Stadium, allowing fans to join in the joyous occasion.
