Team India Arrives in Sri Lanka for Exciting Cricket Series
The Indian cricket team has arrived in Pallekele, Sri Lanka, ahead of their white-ball series which will kick off on July 27. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) shared a video of the team’s arrival, captioning it, ‘Mumbai to Pallekele via Colombo, #TeamIndia have reached Sri Lanka.’
The series will feature three T20Is on July 27, July 28, and July 30, followed by a three-match ODI series starting on August 1. The T20I matches will be held at the Pallekele International Stadium, while the R Premadasa Stadium will host the ODI matches.
New Coaching Team
India’s newly appointed head coach, Gautam Gambhir, held a press conference expressing his excitement and commitment to the team. ‘The most important thing is that they will always have my back. Aim to make it a happy and secure dressing room. I am taking over a very successful team. Runner-ups in WTC and 50-overs WC. I have big shoes to fill and am looking forward to it,’ Gambhir said.
Gambhir will be supported by assistant coaches Abhishek Nayar and Ryan Ten Doeschate. ‘I have worked closely with Abhishek and Ryan in the last two months at the IPL with KKR. Both are absolute professionals and hopefully they will have a successful stint with the Indian team as coaches,’ he added.

Nayar played three ODIs for India and won several Ranji Trophy titles with Mumbai throughout his first-class career, which lasted over 100 games. He has also guided Dinesh Karthik in making an international comeback and was praised by Varun Chakravarthy after KKR’s IPL title win.
About Ryan Ten Doeschate
Ten Doeschate is currently with the Los Angeles Knight Riders in Major League Cricket as an assistant coach and has previously served as the batting coach for Kent.
