Team India Arrives in Barbados for T20 World Cup Final Against South Africa
Bridgetown, Barbados – June 28: Team India, led by Rohit Sharma, has arrived in Barbados ahead of the T20 World Cup 2024 final match against South Africa at the Kensington Oval. The Men in Blue secured their place in the final after a stunning victory over England by 68 runs at the Providence Stadium in Guyana.
India’s Journey to the Final
India displayed an outstanding performance in the group stage, finishing at the top of Group A with seven points. In the semi-final against England, Rohit Sharma scored 57 runs, Suryakumar Yadav added 47 runs, and Hardik Pandya and Ravindra Jadeja contributed with 23 and 17* runs respectively. England’s Chris Jordan took three wickets but couldn’t stop India from reaching 171/7.
During England’s run chase, they struggled to adapt to the pitch and were all out for 103 in 16.4 overs. Harry Brook and Jos Buttler were the only notable scorers for England. Axar Patel and Kuldeep Yadav led India’s bowling attack, each taking three wickets, while Jasprit Bumrah took two wickets.
South Africa’s Path to the Final
South Africa confirmed their place in the final by defeating Afghanistan by nine wickets. The final match between the unbeaten sides, India and South Africa, is set to take place in Barbados on Saturday.
