New Delhi, July 1: Telugu Desam Party (TDP) MP Lavu Sri Krishna Devarayalu has asked the central government, led by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), to help Andhra Pradesh with redevelopment and reconstruction. Speaking in the Lok Sabha, he also requested assistance for debt relief and the Polavaram project.

Devarayalu praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership and assured that TDP will support the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in its developmental efforts for the next five years. He highlighted two major issues faced by Andhra Pradesh: revenue deficit and high debt burden.

He explained that the state has been struggling with a revenue deficit for the past 10 years and requested the Finance Ministry to release the funds needed to cover this gap. Additionally, he mentioned that Andhra Pradesh has a debt of Rs 13.5 lakh crore, but no new infrastructure has been added in the last five years.

Devarayalu also sought help from the Union Jal Shakti Ministry for the Polavaram Project, which has been stalled for the last five years. He emphasized the project’s importance for providing irrigation water, benefiting households, and generating electricity. Furthermore, he requested the Union Housing and Urban Affairs Ministry to assist in building the state’s capital in Amaravati.

The TDP MP commended the NDA government’s achievements over the past 10 years, including the implementation of GST, the ban on Triple Talaq, the Women’s Reservation Bill, and the abrogation of Article 370. He affirmed that the NDA government will continue to set new targets and work towards them.

Devarayalu highlighted the recent electoral success of the TDP-BJP-Janasena Party alliance in Andhra Pradesh, which won a significant number of seats in both the assembly and parliamentary elections. The third successive NDA government was sworn in last month under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership.
