Flood Relief Efforts in Vijayawada
Visits by TDP MLA and Chief Minister
TDP MLA Kolikapudi Srinivasa Rao visited the flood-affected Ambapuram village in Vijayawada. He oversaw relief operations and interacted with the flood victims.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu also inspected the flood-affected areas. He assured residents of all possible help to rebuild their lives. The Chief Minister promised financial aid, repair of homes and vehicles, and provision of food and water supplies.
Flood Impact and Government Response
Heavy rainfall caused severe waterlogging in Vijayawada for ten days. While floodwaters have subsided in many areas, some remain flooded. Residents were moved to relief camps, and a medical camp was set up to prevent disease spread.
Health Minister Satya Kumar Yadav stated that medical officers are conducting door-to-door surveys and vector surveillance to contain diseases.
Union Minister’s Visit
Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan visited the flood-affected areas and assessed the damage to agricultural fields. He noted a 100% loss to crops like banana, haldi, paddy, and vegetables. The central government has promised full support to the state during this crisis.
