Telugu Desam Party (TDP) Andhra Pradesh state president Palla Srinivasa Rao announced on Thursday that party chief Chandrababu Naidu will take further action against the party’s suspended MLA Koneti Adimulam. This decision comes after a senior woman leader accused Adimulam of sexual assault.

Allegations and Evidence

The woman TDP leader held a press conference in Tirupati where she accused Adimulam of misbehaving with her at a hotel. She showed a video of the alleged incident and presented her phone’s call records to highlight repeated calls from the MLA. She claimed that Adimulam had blackmailed and raped her twice at the same hotel and threatened to ruin her life if she spoke out.

Party’s Response

Palla Srinivasa Rao stated, “Party chief N Chandrababu Naidu will initiate further action against Koneti Adimulam, the MLA from Satyavedu Assembly constituency in Chittoor district, in a day or two.” The woman leader also mentioned that she had written to Naidu and party general secretary N Lokesh Naidu, urging them to expel Adimulam from the party.

Background

Koneti Adimulam is a two-time MLA from the Satyavedu assembly constituency. He was previously with the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) and had unsuccessfully contested in 2014.
