In Vadodara, Gujarat, Tata Sons Chairman N Chandrasekaran announced that the TATA Aircraft Complex, in partnership with Airbus, will deliver its first C295 aircraft within two years. This announcement was made during the inauguration of India’s first private military transport aircraft production plant, attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez.

Significance for India

Chandrasekaran highlighted the importance of this project for India’s defense sector, stating it will advance India’s manufacturing capabilities and provide high-tech opportunities for entrepreneurs and youth. The project aligns with the “Make in India” initiative, aiming to position India as a global aerospace hub.

Visionary Leadership

Chandrasekaran credited Ratan Tata for conceiving the project in 2012, emphasizing his visionary leadership in forming the partnership with Airbus. The first 200 Tata engineers are already in Spain for training, and collaboration with 40 SME companies is underway to localize production.

Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez praised the partnership as a model of collaboration, supporting India’s vision to become an industrial powerhouse. He emphasized the growing industrial ties between India and Spain, highlighting Tata’s role as a leader in Indian industry.
