Tanvi Patri Reaches U-15 Badminton Final in China

India’s top junior badminton player, Tanvi Patri, advanced to the U-15 girl’s singles final at the Badminton Asia U-17 and U-15 junior championships in Chengdu, China. She defeated Thailand’s Kungkaew Kakanik 21-19, 21-10.

Patri, seeded no. 1 in the girl’s U-15 category, faced a tough challenge from sixth seed Kakanik in the opening game but ultimately won in just 31 minutes. She will now face second seed Nguyen Thi Thu Huygen of Vietnam, who defeated China’s Liu Yu Tong 21-18, 17-21, 21-19 in the other semifinal.

In past championships, Samiya Imad Farooqui won the U-15 girls singles crown in 2017, and Tasnim Mir was victorious in 2019.
