Tamil Nadu Teams Up with Google to Train 2 Million Kids in AI
The Tamil Nadu government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Google to establish Artificial Intelligence (AI) labs. These labs will be set up at Guidance, the state’s investment promotion agency, to train 2 million youngsters in AI. This announcement was made by Industries Minister T.R.B. Rajaa during Chief Minister MK Stalin’s visit to Google’s headquarters in San Francisco.
Chief Minister MK Stalin is on an official visit to the United States to attract investments and support for Tamil Nadu’s economic development. Minister TRB Rajaa expressed excitement about the new era of technology that Tamil Nadu is entering, highlighting the focus on research and development, semiconductor design, and AI.
Rajaa stated, “With this partnership, we aim to skill 2 million youngsters in AI via Naan Mudhalvan, collaborate with startups, and enable MSMEs and the rural economy. We want our youth to be a future-ready workforce.”
During his visit, CM Stalin also visited the offices of Apple and Microsoft, discussing various opportunities and partnerships. He emphasized the goal of making Tamil Nadu a leading growth engine in Asia.
