Tamil Nadu Health Minister Ma Subramanian Responds to Criticism Over Chennai Air Show
In Chennai, Tamil Nadu Health Minister Ma Subramanian addressed criticisms regarding the Indian Air Force Air Adventure Program. The opposition accused the DMK government of failing to provide basic arrangements, with AIADMK leader Edappadi K Palaniswami claiming five deaths due to heatstroke. Subramanian stated that the state government fully cooperated with the event, holding coordination meetings with Air Force officers and government officials to meet all demands.
He highlighted that two medical teams, 40 ambulances, and 100 hospital beds were prepared for emergencies. Additionally, 7500 police officers were deployed for security, and temporary toilets and drinking water were arranged. Despite these efforts, AIADMK leader Kovai Sathyan and BJP state president K Annamalai criticized the government for mismanagement, citing a lack of public address systems, water booths, and traffic management.
The Air Show was organized by the Indian Air Force at Chennai’s Marina Beach in anticipation of the 92nd Air Force Day on October 8.
