Tamil Nadu CM Stalin Remembers Late CPI-M Leader Sitaram Yechury

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin visited the family of the late CPI-M General Secretary Sitaram Yechury and shared cherished memories with them. In a heartfelt post, CM Stalin expressed how Yechury often spoke with great admiration for the DMK and their special bond.

Yechury, who passed away on September 12 due to pneumonia, was admitted to AIIMS in Delhi on August 19. He was initially in the emergency ward and later moved to the ICU. Born on August 12, 1952, in Chennai, Yechury was a brilliant student who studied at St Stephen’s College and JNU.

Joining the Communist Party of India (Marxist) in 1975, Yechury rose through the ranks with his skills and knowledge. He was a prominent Left leader known for his sharp parliamentary interventions and cross-party political connections. He served two terms in the Rajya Sabha from 2005 to 2017 and was awarded the Best Parliamentarian award in 2017.

Yechury’s absence is profoundly felt, and he is deeply missed by many, including CM Stalin, who fondly remembered their special bond.
