Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin Offers Help to Kerala After Wayanad Landslides
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin expressed his condolences for the lives lost due to landslides in Kerala’s Wayanad. He stated that Tamil Nadu is ready to provide any needed assistance. The landslides, which occurred in the Meppadi area, resulted in 24 deaths and 70 injuries.
Rescue operations are ongoing, with the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) involved. NDRF DG Piyush Anand reported that 74 people have been evacuated, 16 bodies recovered, and one person rescued alive.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced financial aid for the victims’ families and assured Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan of all possible help. Congress MP Rahul Gandhi also expressed his concern and spoke to Kerala officials to ensure coordinated relief efforts.
