Farewell to Murasoli Selvam: A Tribute in Chennai

On October 10, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin and Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin paid their last respects to Murasoli Selvam, who passed away recently. The ceremony took place at the Karunanidhi Residence in Chennai. Murasoli Selvam, who was the brother-in-law of MK Stalin, died due to health complications in Bangalore.

Selvam was the former editor of ‘Murasoli’, the official newspaper of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) party. He served as the editor until his health declined, after which Udhayanidhi Stalin took over the role. Murasoli Selvam was also the son-in-law of the late DMK leader M Karunanidhi.

Actor and TVK President Vijay’s wife, Sangeetha Sornalingam, was among those who paid their respects. The mortal remains of Selvam were taken to the residence of the former chief minister, M Karunanidhi.

Chief Minister MK Stalin expressed his sorrow on social media, describing Selvam as a guiding brother and a pillar of support. He shared that with Selvam’s passing, he has lost the “last shoulder” to lean on.

Tamil Nadu BJP President Annamalai also expressed his condolences, offering prayers for Selvam’s soul to rest in peace.
