Tamil Maanila Congress Criticizes Udhayanidhi Stalin’s Appointment as Deputy CM of Tamil Nadu
Chennai (Tamil Nadu) [India], September 29: Tamil Maanila Congress spokesperson AS Munavar Basha criticized the choice of elevating Udhayanidhi Stalin to the position of Deputy Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. Basha stated, “Only in a monarchy does the son of a king become the prince of the country.” He congratulated Udhayanidhi Stalin but emphasized that India is a democratic country.
DMK leader and State Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin was elevated to the position of Deputy Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu on Saturday. He is currently serving as Minister for Youth Welfare and Sports Development and will also take on the portfolio of planning and development. Stalin is expected to take the oath as Deputy CM later today.
Basha claimed that many senior leaders, such as Durai Murugan, were overlooked for the position. He also mentioned that the public is suffering due to high taxes imposed by the government and predicted that the DMK party will be voted out in the next assembly elections due to “dynastic politics.”
Earlier, Tamil Nadu BJP Vice President Narayanan Thirupathy criticized the recent cabinet reshuffle, stating that Udhayanidhi Stalin lacks the maturity to hold the post of a minister. Thirupathy questioned how someone who has not apologized for controversial statements could become the Deputy Chief Minister.
