From 6 am on Friday to 6 am on Saturday, Taiwan’s Ministry of National Defence (MND) detected nine Chinese military aircraft and seven naval vessels near its borders. One of these aircraft entered Taiwan’s Air Defence Identification Zone (ADIZ). Taiwan’s MND monitored the situation and responded by sending aircraft, naval ships, and deploying coastal-based missile systems.

In a post on X, Taiwan’s MND stated, “9 PLA aircraft, 7 PLAN vessels and 1 official ship operating around Taiwan were detected up until 6 a.m. (UTC+8) today. 1 of the aircraft crossed the median line. We have monitored the situation and responded accordingly.”

On Friday, Taiwan’s MND also reported that from 6 am on Thursday to 6 am on Friday, 19 Chinese military aircraft, seven naval vessels, and two official ships were detected. Fifteen of these aircraft crossed the median line of the Taiwan Strait and entered Taiwan’s eastern ADIZ. Taiwan’s MND again monitored the situation and responded accordingly.

In another post on X, Taiwan’s MND said, “19 PLA aircraft, 7 PLAN vessels and 2 official ships operating around Taiwan were detected up until 6 a.m. (UTC+8) today. 15 of the aircraft crossed the median line and entered Taiwan’s eastern ADIZ. We have monitored the situation and responded accordingly.”

This incident is part of a series of similar actions by China in recent months, where China has increased its military activities around Taiwan, including regular air and naval incursions into Taiwan’s ADIZ and military exercises near the island.
