Taiwan Detects 15 Chinese Military Aircraft and 9 Naval Vessels Near Its Borders
From 9 am on Monday to 6 am on Tuesday, Taiwan’s Ministry of National Defence (MND) detected 15 Chinese military aircraft and 9 naval vessels around Taiwan. Of these, 14 aircraft crossed the median line and entered Taiwan’s northern and southwestern Air Defence Identification Zone (ADIZ).
In response, Taiwan’s armed forces monitored the situation and took necessary actions. The MND shared this information in a post on X, stating, “15 PLA aircraft and 9 PLAN vessels operating around Taiwan were detected up until 6 a.m. today. 14 of the aircraft crossed the median line and entered Taiwan’s northern and southwestern ADIZ. #ROCArmedForces have monitored the situation and responded accordingly.”
So far in July, Taiwan’s MND has detected Chinese military aircraft 160 times and naval ships 52 times. Since September 2020, China has increased its military activities around Taiwan, including regular air and naval incursions into Taiwan’s ADIZ and military exercises near the island.
