Tabraiz Shamsi and Anrich Nortje Join St Kitts & Nevis Patriots for CPL 2024
South African cricketers Tabraiz Shamsi and Anrich Nortje will replace Sri Lankan players Wanindu Hasaranga and Nuwan Thushara in the St Kitts & Nevis Patriots squad for the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2024. Hasaranga and Thushara are out due to injuries.
Shamsi has previously played 32 games in the CPL, including 27 for the Patriots, and has taken 33 wickets at an economy rate of 7.06. Nortje is set to make his CPL debut.
Injuries to Sri Lankan Players
Before the start of the ODI series between Sri Lanka and India, Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) confirmed that Hasaranga would miss the remainder of the series due to a left hamstring injury. He experienced pain while delivering the last ball of his 10th over during the first ODI. An MRI confirmed the injury. Hasaranga was a standout performer in the first ODI, taking three wickets, including those of Virat Kohli and KL Rahul.
Thushara broke a finger in his left hand during training before the white-ball series against India.
