Syed Shahnawaz Hussain Condemns Arvind Sawant’s Remarks on Shaina NC
In New Delhi, Bharatiya Janata Party’s National Spokesperson, Syed Shahnawaz Hussain, expressed strong disapproval of derogatory comments made by Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Arvind Sawant about Shaina NC, a prominent leader in Mumbai. Sawant’s remark, referring to Shaina NC as ‘imported maal’, has caused a political stir between the Mahayuti alliance (BJP, Shiv Sena, and NCP) and the Maha Vikas Aghadi alliance (Congress, Shiv Sena (UBT), NCP (SP)).
Hussain stated, “This is deeply hurtful, the statement given by him is derogatory, Shaina NC is a prominent women leader of the country. She is very much respected in Mumbai. To call her ‘imported maal’ is not only her insult but the insult of the whole women community.” He believes the people of Mumbadevi will respond strongly to Sawant and the Maha Vikas Aghadi alliance.
Union Minister Ramdas Athawale also criticized Sawant’s remarks, emphasizing Shaina NC’s role as a social activist and condemning the language used. He suggested that legal action should be considered.
Shaina NC is contesting in the upcoming Maharashtra Assembly elections from the Mumbadevi constituency against Congress’ Amin Patel. The elections are set for November 20, with results to be announced on November 23.
