Swati Maliwal Criticizes AAP and Arvind Kejriwal for Haryana Election Performance

On October 8, AAP Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal expressed her disappointment with the Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) performance in the Haryana assembly elections. She accused the party’s national convenor, Arvind Kejriwal, of entering Haryana politics to “take revenge” on the Congress party. Maliwal claimed that Kejriwal falsely accused her of being a BJP agent and is now betraying the INDIA bloc by cutting Congress votes.

Maliwal criticized Kejriwal for not being able to secure any seats for AAP in Haryana, his home state. She urged the party to abandon its “ego” and focus on working for the people. Maliwal’s comments were shared in a post on X, where she also mentioned that a candidate was fielded to defeat Vinesh Phogat.

Meanwhile, the Haryana assembly elections saw the BJP securing a victory. Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini won from the Ladwa assembly constituency with a margin of 16,054 votes. He thanked the people of Haryana and attributed the victory to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The BJP has won 47 seats and is leading on one more, marking its third consecutive victory in the state. The Congress party has won 36 seats and is leading on another.

The elections for Haryana’s 90 seats were held in a single phase on October 5.
