New Delhi [India], July 1: Swami Avdheshanand Giri condemned Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for his remarks about the Hindu community, demanding an apology. Giri stated that Gandhi’s comments defamed and insulted Hindus, who are non-violent and inclusive.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah also insisted that Gandhi apologize. Shah said, “Connecting violence with any religion is wrong. He should apologize.”

In his speech, Gandhi criticized the BJP-led government, alleging attacks on India’s Constitution and minorities. He said, “There has been a systematic and full-scale assault on the idea of India, the Constitution, and on the people who resisted the attack on the Constitution.”

Prime Minister Modi responded, emphasizing the importance of taking democracy seriously. He said, “Democracy and the Constitution have taught me that I need to take the Leader of Opposition seriously.”

Gandhi also attacked the government over the Agniveer scheme and claimed that ministers were scared of greeting him in the presence of PM Modi.
