Early Struggles

India had a rough start after choosing to bat first. Skipper Rohit Sharma was dismissed for just eight runs by Rashid Khan. Rishabh Pant then came in and boosted the run rate with some impressive strokes, including three consecutive fours off Mohammed Nabi. Suryakumar and Hardik Pandya then took charge, bringing up the 100-run mark in 12.2 overs. Suryakumar reached his half-century in just 27 balls but was soon dismissed for 53 runs. Hardik continued to attack but was caught for 32 runs. India was 159/6 in 18 overs.

Final Push

Ravindra Jadeja and Axar Patel added some quick runs towards the end, taking India to a final score of 181/8. Farooqi and Rashid Khan were the standout bowlers for Afghanistan, each taking three wickets.
